Gruesome Gothic Success for Year 10 pupils
It was celebrations all round as Year 10 pupils recently became published authors. They entered the Young Writers’ Spine Chillers competition, challenging their skills and abilities to produce a mini gothic story in less than 100 words. Pupils had to develop an atmospheric, eerie narrative that kept the audience gripped and at Cullybackey College we couldn’t be happier with what they’ve achieved.
Pupils’ stories were then selected to appear in the Spine Chillers Northern Ireland Terrors anthology, celebrating 25 years of the Young Writers tradition. Topics ranged from frightening creatures, powerful curses and vicious villains to name but a few. Be sure to pick up a copy and see the quality of their work for yourself. We are, after all, a nation that loves a good ghost story.
